GracePlace Retreat at St. John’s March 16-17-18, 2012
St. John’s is pleased to offer a new experience during this year’s Lenten season. Grace Place Retreats will compliment our worship, devotions and Group Life journey this year. We are encouraging our members, friends and community to join us in this weekend of healing under the cross of Jesus. While we encourage you to participate in a Group Life community during the 40 Days of Lent, you don’t have to be in a group to take part in this retreat. The goal of Grace Place Lutheran Retreats and Grace Place Life-Long Learning is to offer preventative wellness skills, attitudes and resources to Lutheran congregations and their leadership, so they can carry forth the Gospel message of salvation in Christ, and live and serve in the world to which God calls us. Grace Place is a wellness program, keeping healthy congregations healthy.
Grace Place has recently revised its program to offer weekend retreats for entire congregations. Several members of our St. John’s staff have experienced the week-long retreats for professional church workers, and St. John’s is privileged to be among a handful of congregations to experience this new dimension of Grace Place Retreats – for congregations. Special Thanks to Wheat Ridge and LCMS World Relief and Human Care for providing grants to help offset the costs of this retreat. What Can I Expect? Worship, Prayer, Teaching and Community building around the healing Christ. Expect a refreshing experience that will renew you and encourage healthy physical and spiritual disciplines. Grace Place is led by Dr. John Eckrich who has been instrumental in the Lutheran community for promoting a holistic approach to our wellbeing (spiritual, physical, intellectual, vocational, social/relational, emotional, and financial). Who Should Attend? Grace Place is most fitting for adults, but may be appropriate for high school youth also. What is the Cost? $25/individual, $40/family When Can I Sign Up? Registration is now open at the Welcome Center and online below. Is there childcare provided? Yes! Special activities for children will be provided during the duration of Grace Place.

Grace
Place was initiated by John D. Eckrich, M.D., an Internist and
Gastroenterologist, who has provided integrated health care to many pastors,
teachers, seminarians and their families for more than 30 years in St. Louis. He
envisions a program of preventative wellness disciplines to keep healthy people
healthy. Grace Place was born in 1999, and Dr. Eckrich and his pastoral care
colleagues have now served over 2500 Lutheran church workers, leaders and their
families in over 100 retreats throughout America.
