The Lenten Season

Lent begins with a solemn call from the Scriptures to fasting and repentance as we begin our journey to the baptismal waters of Easter. During this Lenten season, in our weekly liturgies and in small study groups we will gather around the theme:

“By His Wounds We Are Healed.”

One of the beloved scriptures associated with the Lenten season is from the book of Isaiah. The prophet saw a sacred mystery, a divine paradox, an unlikely remedy that we contemplate throughout our Lenten journey, “by his wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:5). The wounds of Jesus unleash incomprehensible power to heal all our maladies. His healing is holistic. We only barely scratch the surface of the implications of His healing work in us; and each week of our journey we will see a different aspect of His healing power.

Weekly Worship at St. John's
St. John's worships weekly on Sunday mornings and Monday evenings. During Advent and Christmas all services include the celebration of Holy Communion.

Sunday Worship
8:00 am and 10:45 a.m.
Please note that on Sunday December 25 there will be only one service at 10:00 a.m.

Monday Night Worship
7:00 pm

• Holy Communion is celebrated on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month and at every Monday evening service. For those who have special needs, we will be happy to assist you with white grape juice and gluten free bread.

• Coffee and conversation follow the 8:00 am Worship Service, offering a chance to greet old friends and an opportunity to meet new ones."Noah's Ark Nursery", a staffed nursery for children birth to age three, is open every Sunday from 7:30am to 12:15pm.
